"～するのとほぼ同時に"
前の事象が起こる直前で、後ろの事象が起こることを表す。

"Almost simultaneously with ~ / as soon as"
This phrase indicates that the subsequent event happens just before or at the same time as the preceding event.

類似文型
「〜か〜ないかのうちに」と「〜たとたん」の違い
「〜か〜ないかのうちに」は動作やイベントが発生する直前を表す。一方で、「〜たとたん」は動作やイベントが発生した直後を表す。
よって、次のような場合は置き換えることができない。
❌ 電話を切るか切らないかのうちに、またかかってきた。
