〜のに / 〜けれども
「〜ながら・・・」の「〜から当然予想されることとは違い、実際は・・・だ」と言いたい時に使う表現。

[備考]
「ながら」の後ろに「も」をつけて、「ながらも」と言う場合もあるが、意味は同じである。

彼女はダイエットすると言っておきながら、今日もケーキを食べている。
She said she was going on a diet, but she's eating cake again today.
1２時会う約束しておきながら、田中さんは来なかった。
Mr. Tanaka was supposed to meet me at 12:00, but he didn't show up.
悪いことだと知っていながら、彼は平気で嘘をつく。
He knows it's wrong, but he lies without hesitation.
彼は洋楽が嫌いだと言っておきながら、海外アーティストのCDをたくさん持っている。
